Week 4 Match Summaries

Mens Ones

Mens ones played away at Worthing. It was a hard fought game with the team leading at half time, conceding an equaliser early in the second half then getting the winning goal 5 minutes before the end. Great team performance with some great determination and commitment shown. The game ended in a 2-1 win with goalie Mikey Orchard being named player of the match. Goals by Jake Simmons and Ollie Turner-Moore.

Mens Threes

Finally, our mens threes travelled away to Worth school to play St Francis threes at 16:30pm. Unfortunately, the side lost 4-1 but came away even more determined to win their next game!

Ladies Ones

Ladies ones played away at Brighton at 13:00pm. Our ladies played spectacular hockey, pushing each other and playing hard. The game ended in a 6-1 defeat despite the constant battling and awesome hockey being played. The goal was expertly scored by Club Captain, Lucy Smith. Player of the match went to both Rosie Rawlings and Annie Marr.

Ladies Twos

Ladies twos played at home at 12:00pm against Burgess Hill fours. Within the first ten minutes, three goals were already scored. The first half ended 4-1 and the team had great determination going into the second half. The second half bought another three goals but defence worked tirelessly to prevent the opposition scoring. Ending 7-1, these players got a goal: Naomi Tear (3), Jen Brough (1), Rach Catling (1), Celia Field (1) and Amber Valentine (1). A fantastic team effort, proven by the player of the match being the team.

Ladies Threes

The newly formed Ladies threes team played against Worthing twos at 10:30am. The home match began with the side having 11 players on pitch after a slight goalie mishap. However, when the goalie came on, the side began to find their rhythm. After a physical first half, the second half came with two goals from superstar Lottie Ikeson. The game ended 2-0 with 3 players of the match (Lottie Ikeson, Catherine Burns and Bethy Catling). Well done to Ladies threes for their first win of the season!
