Womens One's
Captain - Sam Williams
League - Martlets Division One
Training Time - Thursday 8pm-9pm
The Women's 1's are a friendly, talented and supportive team who play in Martlets Division One. They are a lovely bunch of women on and off the pitch and they all have the balance of competitiveness and kindness just right, setting a great example of sportsmanship to the rest of the club. Sam Williams captains a dedicated team full of experience and young talent who prove themselves each week no matter the score line. They had a much improved season last year finish 6th which is their best league position in years. Each week they turn up with grit, determination and perseverance which meant they challenged all the teams they played. They are always told by the opposition that they are a delight to play against and the respect they give to umpires is always appreciated and commended. We can't wait to see what they bring to the 2026/27 season!
Mens One's
Captain - Harry Hook
League - Martlets Division One
Training Time - Wednesday 8pm-9:30pm
The Men's 1's are a dedicated and competitive team that strived for promotion this past season, narrowly missing out by finishing second overall in the final came. For the 2026/27 season, led by captain Harry Hook, the team is strengthened by returning players and promising young talent emerging through the club. Their dynamic is a great mix of competition and camaraderie. Having trained diligently over the summer to maintain peak fitness, they are set for September. Their fast-paced, entertaining, high-level hockey makes them a team worth watching and supporting in the upcoming season.
Womens Two's
Captains - Josie Mitchell & Fiona von-Hinten
League - Martlets Division Two
Training Time - Thursday 8pm-9pm
The Women's 2's is a fun, close-knit and supportive team who now compete in Martlets Division 2 after their league win and promotion last season. Their captain Josie Mitchell will be leading the team again this season with Fiona von-Hinten alongside her into hopefully another successful year. This team boasts a great mix of experienced adults and young players, creating a supportive learning environment that is key to their success. With s loss of a few players to university and bigger and better things their aim this coming season is to secure a place in this new league and ideally, finish mid table or even higher. We wish them all the best and hope to see them on a winning streak just like last season
Mens Two's
Captain - Jethro Hook
League - Martlets Division Two
Training Time - Wednesday 8pm-9:30pm
The Men's 2's are recognised for their exceptional team spirit, strong skills, and cohesive teamwork, fostered by their close friendships. This season marks their debut in Martlets Division 2 following last season's promotion, with the goal of securing a high league position. This objective is achievable, especially given their recent performance. The team is dedicated to developing and mentoring their players and enabling them to reach their full potential. Jethro Hook is leading the Men's 2's for his first full season as captain after guiding them to second place and promotion last season. With Jethro at the helm, the team is in excellent hands, and we're excited to see what other successes he'll bring to this great team.
Womens Three's
Captain - Bethy Catling
League - Martlets Division Three
Training Time - Thursday 8pm-9pm
The Women's 3's have successfully retained their place in Martlets Division 3, which is a fantastic achievement after a challenging season last year. With new captain Bethy Catling at the helm and the experienced Vicky Dennett as her vice they aim to maintain in the Division 3 league and hopefully finish in an even higher position this coming season. Bethy plans to build a strong, consistent core within the squad while nurturing some promising young players to give them experience within higher level hockey so they continue to develop their hockey skills throughout the season. We're all excited to see how she leads the team this season to success.
Mens Three's
Captain - Elijah Fuller
League - Martlets Division Four
Training Time - Wednesday 7pm-8pm
The Men's 3's compete in Martlet's Division Four league and usually finish around mid-table each season. Last season was a tale of two halves for them-half of their games were strong, earning some hard fought wins and draws, while the other half brought some tough losses. This season, they're aiming to convert more of those losses into wins to climb higher up the leaderboard especially as it is Elijah Fullers first full season as captain and he has his eyes set on the prize and is aiming for promotion. With the team growing stronger each season and a fresh wave of young players joining, Elijah has high hopes for their success. His enthusiasm for the upcoming season is infectious, and the club is really excited to see how far he can lead the team.
Womens Four's
Captain - Sarah Mercer
League - Martlets Division Four
Training Time - Thursday 7pm-8pm
The Women's 4's accommodates a variety of different types of hockey players who all take great pleasure in playing hockey twice a week. The captain Sarah Mercer thinks it is a great place for people who have never picked up a stick before as it nurtures and helps develop players of any age by playing fun and relaxed hockey. It is also a great fit for ex-players who haven't played in a while or just want to play for a bit of fun and fitness on a Saturday and youngsters developing through the club. They play in the Martlets Division Four league and usually place mid table each season despite only being formed 5 years ago. Each year they top their past seasons records and exceed expectations with some amazing wins against some tough oppositions. They also contain a small cohort of younger girls who challenge the rest of the ladies to keep up with them and push them every week. The Women's 4's is a welcoming group so would be the perfect place to start for newbies.
Men's Four's
Captain - VACANT
League - Martlets Division Four
Training Time - Wednesday 7pm-8pm
The Men's 4's are much alike to our Women's 4's in which they encourage players of all skill sets to join CHC and play some fun, competitive hockey. They are a new team this season and are designed for emerging older development players alongside some experienced players who can share their knowledge with the younger generation of CHC members. It will provide a supportive environment where players of all ages can thrive. As a development side, it allows us to include seasoned players with high-level hockey experience to help shape the club's-future this season. We're still looking for a captain for this new team, so if you're interested, please get in touch. We're really excited to see what they achieve this season!
Boy's Development
Captain - Fraser Milne
Training Time - Wednesday 7pm-8pm
Our Boys Development Squad has grown massively over the last few seasons, young hockey players (old and new) joining the club via this team. In the 2023/24 season they were shortlisted to the final five Men's Teams of the Year by England Hockey and were highly commended. The boys were managed by our club coach, Justin Singleton for the last few seasons, who has brought many new techniques and a strong desire to the side. Countless members of this team have come through our junior section and have gone on to play for our men's section and Sussex. In 2021, the boys managed to get into the play-off finals and were incredibly close to winning. This is an amazing team to play for and to start off your hockey journey in. With Fraser Milne coaching for the 3rd season in a row we cannot wait to see him bring even more success to this team.
Girl's Development
Captain - VACANT
Training Time - Thursday 7pm-9pm
This Crowborough side has expanded drastically over the last 5 years, attracting attention with their constantly improving team. In the last few seasons, the girls have managed to win more games than their whole history combined. They have grown impressively throughout the seasons and many have gone on to play for our ladies section. In the 20/21 season they managed to win the play-offs to secure the plate coached by Amanda Catling. In their last couple of seasons with Fiona von-Hinton they have flourished into such a coheasive and skillfull team with so much potential. There has been such a high demand for young girls at crowborough to play hockey that we have set up a womens fours team which will consist of older development girls and some experienced payers in order to get the most amount of girls games as possible. We are so excited to see what that the girls are going to achieve this coming season. If you are interested in coaching this team then please get in contact.
