TEAMS
Womens One's
Captain - Sam Williams
League - Martlets Division One

The Women's 1's are a friendly, talented and supportive team who play in Martlets Division One. They are a lovely bunch of women on and off the pitch and they all have the balance of competitiveness and kindness just right, setting a great example of sportsmanship to the rest of the club. Sam Williams captains and Amanda Catling vice-captains a dedicated team full of experience and young talent who prove themselves each week no matter the score line. Despite finishing in 10th place out of 12 last season this did not reflect how they played, each week they turn up with grit, determination and perseverance which meant they challenged all the teams they played. They are always told by the opposition that they are a delight to play against and the respect they give to umpires is always appreciated and commended. We can't wait to see what they bring to the 2025/26 season!
Mens One's

The Men's 1's are a competitive and driven team who worked hard this past season to gain promotion into Martlet Division One by placing 2nd overall in their league. Heading into the 2025/26 season with their new captain Harry Hook they have some old players returning and some young talent developing through into the team aswell. They have a range of young rising stars and more experienced players this coming season which gives them a good mix of players who play to different stregnths to bring to games. Over the summer this team have been working hard by having there own targeted training sessions to keep fit, skillful and ready for September. They play very fast paced hockey and are very entertaining to watch so do come up and support them this coming season.

Captain - Josie Mitchell
League - Martlets Division Three

The Women's 2's is a fun, close-knit and supportive team who compete in Martlets Division Three. Their captain Josie Mitchell will be leading the team again this season into hopefully another successful one. A highlight for this team last season was a 10:1 win against a tough opposition where everything gelled perfectly together after lots of practice and everyone played so well. With the development of the Women's section over the last couple of seasons we hope to see the Women's 2's fly through their league and gain promotion however they will have the Women's 3's team in their league aswell so there will definelty be some friendly rivalry. We wish them all the best and hope to see them on a winning streak like last season with young players who have exciting potential developing through the Club.

Ian Easton will be carrying on as their captain again this season, his passion that he brings to the pitch is perfect for this team and has brought them success. He is a respected and skilled player who also gets the balance right of fun and competition. The whole team help develop and nurture our young talent through the Mens sides of the club and help them be the best they can be. This team have consistent and loyal players who are highly effective in the teams performance each week but are also just as effective in influencing good etiquette and attitude for all players on and of the pitch. Captain - Fiona von-Hinten
League - Martlets Division Three

This team have only been together for 1 season and in that season they gained promotion into Martlets Division Three and changed from Women's 4's to Women's 3's. Although they where a ring fenced team last season full of youngsters to help introduce them into adult hockey they will look very different this year with more of a mix of experience and youth as players move throughout the teams. Captain of this team will be the top goal scorer across the men's and women's sections in the 2024/25 season Fiona von-Hinten. She plans to try to get back to back promotions and really show what this team can achieve in this new league. Look out for there game this season with the Women's 2's! We will see who comes out on top
Mens Three's
Captain - Justin Singleton
League - Martlets Division Four

The Men's 3's are much alike to our Women's 4's in which they encourage players of all skill sets to join Crowborough Hockey Club and play some fun, competitive hockey. They play in the Martlets Division Four league and sit around mid table each season. The Men's 3's are the core group that bring our young players through our Men's side of the club and help to develop them not only into great hockey players but also respectful people. Our Men's 3's is full of experienced players who reciprocate our Club's values to the younger generation of Crowborough Hockey players and new ones joining us. If you want to socialize more and do some fitness as well then this is the team for you. This season sees Stuart Smith captain for the 2nd season, his aim is to bring through the youth of the club in a nurturing fashion while it still being fun. We can't wait to see what this season brings for Men's 3's.
Womens Four's
Captain - Sarah Mercer
League - Martlets Division Four

The Women's 4's (previously named Women's 3's) accommodates a variety of different types of hockey players who all take great pleasure in playing hockey twice a week. The captain Sarah Mercer thinks it is a great place for people who have never picked up a stick before as it nurtures and helps develop players of any age by playing fun and relaxed hockey. It is also a great fit for ex-players who haven't played in a while or just want to play for a bit of fun and fitness on a Saturday and youngsters developing through the club. They play in the Martlets Division Four league and usually place mid table each season despite only being formed 4 years ago. Each year they top their past seasons records and exceed expectations with some amazing wins against some tough oppositions. They also contain a small cohort of younger girls who challenge the rest of the ladies to keep up with them and push them every week. The Women's 4's is a welcoming group so would be the perfect place to start for newbies.
Mixed
Captain - Vicky Dennett

Crowborough Hockey Club’s Mixed squad returned for a successful summer season of hockey. They played incredibly and took many victories against strong local sides such as East Grinstead, Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells and Purley. The summer side was unique as it featured players from across all the adult teams of the club and proved a brilliant way to encourage club unity and bring the sections together. James Partridge, Harry Hook and Charlotte Richardson were named as the players of the summer as voted by their squad mates. Alongside this more than 40 different players turned out for the mixed team and all played a valuable part. Amongst the 42 goals scored there was one hattrick from Sam Williams, James Partridge contributed a series of braces and Izzy Ikeson scored her first competitive goal. Two Crowborough mixed sides played a local hockey tour at the Fareham Festival, with further event participation hoped for in the future. Now the mixed side have joined a local league to continue playing on Sundays once a month across the season. Details of future fixtures will be posted here for all interested club players, in year 12 and above.
Boy's Development
Captain - Fraser Milne

Our Boys Development Squad has grown massively over the last few seasons, young hockey players (old and new) joining the club via this team. In the 2023/24 season they were shortlisted to the final five Men's Teams of the Year by England Hockey and were highly commended. The boys were managed by our club coach, Justin Singleton for the last few seasons, who has brought many new techniques and a strong desire to the side. Countless members of this team have come through our junior section and have gone on to play for our men's section and Sussex. In 2021, the boys managed to get into the play-off finals and were incredibly close to winning. This is an amazing team to play for and to start off your hockey journey in. With Fraser Milne coaching for the 2nd season in a row we cannot wait to see the success he brings to this team.
Girl's Development
Captain - VACANT
(contact a committee member if you are interested in volunteering as captain)

This Crowborough side has expanded drastically over the last 5 years, attracting attention with their constantly improving team. In the last few seasons, the girls have managed to win more games than their whole history combined. They have grown impressively throughout the seasons and many have gone on to play for our ladies section. In the 20/21 season they managed to win the play-offs to secure the plate coached by Amanda Catling. In their last couple of seasons with Fiona Von-Hinton they have flourished into such a coheasive and skillfull team with so much potential. There has been such a high demand for young girls at crowborough to play hockey that we have set up a womens fours team which will consist of older development girls and some experienced payers in 0rder to get the most amount of girls games as possible. Going into the 2025/26 season we are so excited to see what that the girls are going to achieve this season.
