Week 12 Match Summaries

Ladies Ones:

Ladies 1s travelled to Eastbourne and secured back-to-back wins.

The first half started of nervously and resulted in Crowborough conceding an early goal. However, the team battled hard, closing down on pressured attacks from Eastbourne and eventually capitalised on the counterattack. Kate Baxter brought the score level just before the half time whistle.


Crowborough were much more confident when starting the second half. They utilised using the width through the midfield and kept the pressure up on Eastbourne in the second half. The breakthrough happened when Rosie Rawlings was perfectly placed to receive a gifting ball across the goal from Baxter. This brought the score to 2 - 1. Kate Baxter picked up her second goal ten minutes before the end of the match. An excellent game for Crowborough ones.


Ladies Twos:

Ladies 2s fought hard against top of the table Mid Sussex and finished with a 1 - 1 draw. With a full squad, the side was always full of running and using an effective high press. The home side did break the dead lock with a well worked goal. However, the Crows bounced straight back with a superb through ball which made its way to Sadie Ware who struck it sweetly.

The second half saw Crowborough press hard for a second goal. In the last seconds of the game they won a short corner. It was hit firmly at goal but the keeper's save could not be pounced upon with the game finishing 1 - 1.
