Week Seventeen Match Summaries

Men's Ones:

Men's ones were held to a 2 - 2 draw away at Brighton. Brighton took the lead mid way through the first half from a well worked PC. Crowborough answered in the second half with Jake Simmons equalising before Hamish Marr slipped a second past the Brighton goal keeper to take a one goal lead into the last 5 minutes. Brighton equalised after full time from a short corner beating Mickey Orchard at his near post. Next week is the critical home vs Mid Sussex game where a win will secure a promotion.

Men's Threes:

Crowborough 3s played at home to East Grinstead with a midday pushback. It was a tough physical match. Dave Hathaway score from a penalty for Crowborough but East Grinstead were brutal, and Alex Walton Turner was outstanding in goal and managed to keep the final score down to a 1 - 7 defeat. Player Of The Match was Alex Walton Turner.

Ladies Twos:

L2s hosted a friendly match against Eastbourne with a 3pm pushback. In the spirit of fostering inter club relations, and hockey in general, there was an eclectic mix of players in the opposition squad with Crowborough players stepping up to fill vacant positions. The match however was high octane with lots of action in midfield and in the opponents D, the final score was a 2 - 0 win to Crowborough. Scorers were Rosie Rawlings and Josie Mitchell. Player of the Match was Sophia Dennet who was awesome in midfield.
