Young Development Game 27/03/22

Young Development travelled to Guildford at 12:00pm for the last junior game of the season.

The Crows demonstrated a battling performance where they dominated possession throughout. After conceding in the first five minutes, the Crows moved onto the front foot and started to control the play.

Players of the game Oli and Henry were superb at the back, defending furiously alongside Harry who did a great job moving the ball up the pitch with his powerful hits.

Grace and Eddie broke up the play with determination in the middle, covering a lot of ground whilst doing so.

Sophia and Will excellently held the width and supported the attacks- especially in the last quarter where they combined to great effect.

Goalie Keren ensured no breakaways by the home side came to anything.

Riyad, Aydin and Beau were magnificent forward outlets with a shot from Riyad nearly evening the score.

Eden came closest to scoring for the Crows with a shot cleared off the line by the back pedalling defender.

Unfortunately, the game ended in a 1-0 loss but the play shown by our young Crowborough players and improvement through the season meant it felt more like a victory.

It was a great effort against a lovely and talented opposition and a nice last game for everyone to play.

Thank you to all the parents who travelled a long way to support our side on a sunny Mothers Day and to Keren for stepping in as our talented keeper.

The biggest thank you goes to Vicky Dennett. Not only has she organised all the junior fixtures this season but she has also ensured they have a team each week, the teams are provided with teas, the home fixtures have umpires, that she can support the juniors at every opportunity and that the club is overall more invested in the development of our junior section. She does this on top of already being Ladies Twos captain and her extensive backing of the club. She has been awesome this season and deserves the largest thanks out of everyone on this final fixture.

Well done to all the young Crows who played yesterday and we cannot wait to see you all next season!
